A Fusion Deal - CarDesignNews.com sold to Ultima Media Ltd

Fusion Corporate Partners LLP, the leading digital and traditional media M&A specialist, is pleased to announce the sale of CarDesignNews Ltd and its core asset www.cardesignnews.com, the most powerful online resource for automotive designers internationally, to Ultima Media Ltd, a specialist automotive publisher.

The Car Design News web service is widely recognised as the strongest global brand in automotive design information.

The sale brings together the three leading automotive design information and networking services.  CarDesignNews.com, will sit alongside Ultima's current publications, Interior Motives, the global magazine focussed on car interiors, and the Auto Design Night series of professional networking events, held at the biggest international motor shows.

‘Car designers need connections online, in print and in person,’ said Simon Timm, chairman of Ultima Media. ‘They need to see the latest concepts and launches, to read the insights from studio visits, and to access extensive photographic and text archives.

‘Add in the chance to network exclusively with other designers at the major motor shows, and we believe that design productivity – not to mention designers’ creative juices – will be really boosted by this acquisition.’

CDN founder Brett Patterson added: ‘The modern design environment is challenging. Consumers want style, regulators want ecology, manufacturers want markets, and everyone looks at cost. My colleagues Sam Livingstone, Nick Hull and I have strived to play our part by providing feedback to the design community, in an intelligent and analytical way, of the collective global output of their work.

FusionCorporate Partners LLP acted exclusively for the shareholders of CDN.  The parties responsible for the transaction at Fusion were Paul Kelly pkelly@fusioncorp.co.uk and Paul Slight pslight@fusioncorp.co.uk
